IPTM has been designed with Windows Vista in mind and especially the UAC (User Account Control)

Microsoft have locked down much of what a user can do and as such reading and writing to the hard drive is restricted and controlled much more in Vista than in any previous versions of Windows.

To work around this issue when IPTM is started it automatically creates a folder in the local users profile folder (Docs & Settings/UserName/LocalSettings/Application Data/Intpetro) and installs some of the common accessable files that IP needs during normal operation.

IPTM will also operate like this on Windows XP - the change is for all platforms.

Most problems with Vista are UAC related and occur due to the logged by the user not having rights to folders, even Administrator users require confirmation to the Operating System before tasks will get carried out. While it is possible to turn off UAC completely,  that defeats the extra security levels introduced by Microsoft in Windows Vista.

In short you should not have any problems running IPTM on Windows Vista™
