Some IP users may have seen messages warning of imminent expiry of their IP licence. Please be assured that the licences have been updated and just need to be collected from the central license server. Instructions have been sent out to all companies but may not have reached every individual user.

For more than seven years, Schlumberger Information Solutions (SIS) and Senergy have successfully collaborated to provide the Interactive Petrophysics (IPTM) software to the international oil and gas industry. Historically IPTM has been developed and maintained by Senergy, while Schlumberger has provided sales and marketing expertise and managed frontline support for IPTM users.
This collaboration will end on 31 December 2009, after which point Senergy will assume full and direct responsibility for selling, marketing and supporting the software and its users.
During the transition period Schlumberger will continue in its sales, marketing and frontline support role, working closely with Senergy to ensure that there is no disruption in technical support for users.
Senergy looks forward to continuing to build its software business and, through direct contact with the IPTM user base, obtain a greater understanding of clients’ future technical and support needs to facilitate the ongoing development of IPTM.
Over the coming months Senergy will establish a new support organisation through its international offices in order to provide technical support to clients around the world.
Senergy is committed to the ongoing development of IPTM and has exciting plans for the software, including a new release early in 2010.

Interactive PetrophysicsTM will initially be supported by way of a support e-mail address (IPSupport@Senergyworld.com) and support portal. We are building a global support structure including trained support agents in Senergy offices in the UK (Banchory, Scotland), US (Houston, Tx), Abu Dhabi (UAE), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and a network of experienced petrophysicists from our global consultancy business.
During the transition period, both Schlumberger and Senergy will be offering support, however, we encourage all users to start using the Senergy Support system. After 1 January 2010, all support will be provided by Senergy.
What is IP?
Interactive PetrophysicsTM was developed by a Petrophysicist, with a view to work as Petrophysicists want to work, but never thought possible! The software is different by design - portable, quick and versatile. It is an easy-to-use log analysis tool, ideal for both Geologists and Petrophysicists. Geologists may wish to quality check of their log data and experienced Petrophysicists can carry out multi-zone, multi-well Petrophysical field analyses.
IPTM is truly unique in its approach to Petrophysics. For the expert user IPTM offers some of the most sophisticated interpretation modules in the industry.
- The mineral solver enables the most complicated models to be built.
- The Monte Carlo simulation allows the user to truly understand and quantify the errors associated with a complete interpretation workflow.
- The saturation height modelling modules facilitates the creation of Sw functions using core capillary pressure data and/or log data.
- The rock physics interpretation workflow has two highly sophisticated fluid substitution modules.
- The suite of modules in the statistical prediction package includes fuzzy logic, multi-linear regression, neural network, cluster analysis and principal component analysis.
Why is IP so different?
Interactive PetrophysicsTM has been developed over 10 years and is now used by over 300 companies, in more than 70 countries globally.
IPTM is PC-based and therefore portable. It can be taken offshore, into clients' offices and even home. IPTM enhances efficiency, productivity and confidence in log analysis. It offers a unique and advanced graphical interpretation program designed and developed by Petrophysicists. IP's speed and interactivity means that data can be zoned and applied using different methodologies graphically. Using only the mouse, you can pick parameters from cross plots, histograms and log plots. IPTM instantaneously recomputes and displays the results when parameters are changed.
The software is also used by universities and is an excellent tool for training geoscientists and engineers. Interactive Petrophysics™ gives rapid results.
